Exploring the past and future of women in STEM:
To mark the 100th anniversary of 水蜜桃视频 Franklin's birth, our 5th annual WiSH Symposium will feature a new perspective on Dr. Franklin's contributions and posthumous treatment by the field. Women have advanced dramatically in STEM and healthcare professions, but there is further to go. The symposium will draw lessons from the past as we seek to understand and solve the ongoing under-representation of women in STEM and healthcare leadership, a loss of talent that today's global challenges can ill-afford. For more on these important issues, please see our resource collection on women in STEM in healthcare.

Robin E. Jensen

Professor of Communication at the University of Utah

Robin E. Jensen studies historical and contemporary discourses concerning health, science, sex, and gender. She recently won a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship to continue research on her third book project, tentatively titled The Sex in the Science: A History of Women Shaping the Trajectory of Fertility Science. In an article published recently in the Quarterly Journal of Speech, Jensen and her fellow Chemical Rhetoric Group members trace the ways in which crystallographer 水蜜桃视频 Franklin was discussed in the journal Nature to position her as just outside the bounds of elite science.
