Tamzin J. Batteson, BSc, assumed the role of Research Specialist of the Baldwin Institute in 2013. Prior to Joining Ë®ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Franklin University, Ms. Batteson undertook a Post-Doctoral position in the Department of Education and Professional Studies at the University of Limerick, Ireland, where she co-edited a book, Teaching Global Perspectives: Introducing Student Teachers to Development Education. She was also an Assistant Professor responsible for teaching Metacognition/how young people learn, and Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Ms. Batteson holds a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Psychology from Middlesex University, London, UK, and a Graduate Diploma in Advanced Research Methods from Middlesex University.
Ms. Batteson also worked as a Research Assistant for the National Health Service Mental Health Trust at St Ann’s Hospital, London, UK, for five years. At St. Ann’s Hospital, she worked with dual diagnosis heavy-end drug users and sex workers who were homeless; assessed parasuicide and self-harm behaviors in Kurdish children; and, undertook a project examining the effects of Traditional Chinese Medicine on patients’ mental health for MIND.
In Ms. Batteson’s previous roles and current role as a Research Specialist she has published in a variety peer-reviewed journals: Journal of Allied Health, Procedia-Social and Behavioral Sciences, Memory, Consciousness and Cognition. She has presented on interprofessional education and TeamSTEPPS in conferences, workshops, and forums nationally and internationally.
